- Performing project design and engineering services for all aspects of structural engineering systems
- Providing the highest quality of appropriately detailed and coordinated building and analytical modeling
- Applying best practices for structural applications
- Accurate calculations for structural material selection, design, and layout
- Applying best practices in steel, concrete, masonry and concrete design
- Visualizing and designing structural systems for proper load path for gravity and lateral imposed loads
- Collaborates with project team members integrating structural systems with architecture and other engineering systems
- Providing structural professional labor estimates for assigned projects
Communicating variation/issues in structural scope and/or professional services to project leadership - Visiting site as needed to assist construction
- Assisting Estimating in developing cost estimates for the extent of building structural framing
- Responding to concerns/issues from clients after occupancy
- Supervising of contractor and control of quality on a daily basis. Review of contractor's material, shop drawing and method statement submissions for conformance with contract documents
- Handling routine contract administration
- Using computer-based engineering design software and equipment to prepare engineering design documents
- Coordinating structural project work with geotechnical, architectural, process, mechanical, HVAC and electrical engineering staff and consultants
- Attending field walks as required to view existing conditions that impact design Prepare and stamp structural calculations in support of the structural design packages
- Willing, capable, and experienced in performing assigned duties/responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience in structural engineering design
- Minimum 5 years in Rail or metro projects
